The Canadian Jamaican Club, prides itself on the work it has done for many years within the Durham Region and in our local municipality of Oshawa. As we continue to grow and evolve with the changing tides of our society we need people such as
yourself to be a part of our organization. This means that we want people who identify as Canadian, with talents and ideas
they would like to contribute to our continuous growth and programs, or just to be a member of an organization which strives
to ensure solidarity and oneness within our community. Our motto "many cultures, one people" is similar to the motto of
Jamaica because we understand that all people from all walks of life are stronger together than apart.

Social Justice: a concept based on the belief that each individual and group within a given society is entitled to equal opportunity, fairness, civil liberties, and participation in the social, educational, economic institutional and moral freedoms and responsibilities valued by the community.
“No man is and island and no man stands alone each man is our brother and each man is our friend.” This is just one of the many mantras that were taught to us growing up in Jamaica. Recognizing that we have to care for our neighbours both near and far, not necessarily because they are poor or sickly but because we are all human and we are all in this human race together. Let us continue to join our hearts and minds together to create the world we want to live in. We live in a great country and we are committed to playing our part on making multiculturalism a success, CJC welcomes all race and culture to its membership.
It is with great pride and honour that I accept this office and we are blessed to have dedicated Directors who have brought a vast wealth of knowledge to our organization. We have put together a great line up of programs that will serve the residents of Durham. If you have always wanted to give back to your community but not sure which organization to join, let me assure you that Canadian Jamaican Club of Oshawa (CJC) will be happy to have you. One famous Japanese quote says, “the first best time to plant a tree was 20years ago and the next best time is NOW.” So get off the fence and get involved, be a part of something bigger than
Looking forward to working with you.
